18 Already?

Posted in Uncategorized at 5:58 am by Administrator

My oldest son turned 18 years old yesterday. I don’t really know what to say, but that I just can’t believe where the time has gone! It seems like not long ago, I was just 18! Ha ha!

Well, here we are at Real Food Daily in Los Angeles. I’m on the left, Andrew is in the middle, and Aaron (my youngest) is on the right.

A Night with Nick

Posted in Uncategorized at 1:22 am by Administrator

Last night my boys and I had the priviledge of meeting a guest speaker named Nick Vujicic. He is a motivational speaker who uses his personal experiences to help convey his message. Nick was born without arms or legs, yet has managed to become an optimistic, well-adjusted person. He has not only learned to live independently with his handicap, but he has a great sense of humor and a big heart. We were able to speak with him after his time with the youth group. What a charismatic guy! I recommend visiting his website at: http://www.lifewithoutlimbs.org/media.htm

I was able to get a shot of Nick with my boys. It was a very memorable night. Nick’s presentation was very well received by the congregation. My boys and I enjoyed it as well. He is a very special person who has touched my heart.

Anniversary of My Independence Day

Posted in Uncategorized at 9:23 pm by Administrator

Yesterday was my 5 year anniversay since my last blood transfusion! Woo hoo! As every year, it was a hot day. I visited the Procedure Center to see if any of my old nurses were still around, but alas none were there yesterday. . . I even checked out the blood bank, but no one familiar there either. So I went to the PICC line center, and finally found someone familiar–my PICC line doctor, Dr. Eng. We had a pleasant conversation recounting my illness and subsequent recovery and how each of our families are coming along. It was nice.

Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July! We had a nice time with family and friends. We watched the Rose Bowl’s fireworks display from the Pasadena bridge along with hundreds of other locals. LOL But moving along to the topic’s title. . .
