Back to Bartering
This morning I read a news article that stated that Iran was offering to barter with gold bullion OR tankerloads of oil in return for food for it’s 74 million citizens. This will be very interesting to follow. Just the other day news came out that SWIFT had evicted Iran, so even if Iran sells their oil using other foreign currencies like the Yen or Rupee or Won, etc., it would be hard for them to get their full value. So bartering looks like the next step (funny that I had just mentioned bartering in my previous post). I have to hand it to them, they are getting creative! The full article with more details can be read here.
Also this morning I was doing a little search on gold and read on wiki that as of 2009, it has been estimated that all the gold ever mined is valued at $8.8 trillion. Of course that set off a red flag because as far as I know, the current U.S deficit is over $15 trillion. If those figures are right, there’s not enough gold in circulation to pay off the U.S. deficit. We keep this up, we may not have a choice but to start bartering, too. Actually we should probably already be doing it, but somehow our economy is being artificially propped up. Hmmm, I don’t know how bartering would work if you wanted to travel to different countries or enter amusement parks, hehehe, but if commodities were exchanged using the barter system, that would help remove centralized control over the nation’s wealth. Such an exchange of goods might throw a monkey wrench in Rothschild’s idea of “Give me control over a nation’s currency, and I care not who makes its laws.” At least it would make it more complicated and probably drive a lot more people back to the land and artisan skills. Oh, that brings me to another thought since I’ve decided not to buy gold and diamonds anymore (not that I ever bought a lot of those, anyway), but I do like jewelry. When I have a chance I want to look into pearls. I love pearl jewelry, maybe I can still buy those with a clear conscience. . . But what am I thinking? I shouldn’t even be thinking of spending money on stuff like that with our current economic status. I just watched a video of Americans who have lost their homes and are living in tents, yikes.
