Solomon was right! “He who tills his land will be satisfied with bread, But he who follows frivolity is devoid of understanding.” Here Solomon implies that not working one’s land for food is frivolous, that is, it is not sensible. Modern urbanization which strives toward producing useless garden plants that appeal to certain lusts of the eye, but which do not feed the nutritional needs of the body is “devoid of understanding.” Hence we are creating an unsustainable environment which is not consistent with the ancient wisdom of the Biblical Solomon.
Now more than ever, individuals and families, wherever they are, should grow food. Now more than ever information is available to promote local and sensible food production using tried, tested and innovative, nontoxic techniques. Keywords include urban agriculture, metrofarm, permaculture, organic gardening, biointensive, biodynamic.
For too long have we received the lie that society’s roots are better off removed from agriculture. We increasingly work in stale, artificially lit, environments, while wondering why so we and so many poeple around us are sick and diseased. We have been systematically deceived that civilization, as it is peddled to us, is better and inevitable. Petroleum-based leaders in chemical, agricultural, and pharmaceutical industries do not want a public trend toward returning to the land with innovative and traditionally non-toxic methods. Yet toxic and industrial agriculture is failing. Small farming has been demonstrated by current intensive scientific investigation to be better able to satisfy the world’s needs for quality and low cost food. See the International Assessment of Agricultural Knowledge, Science and Technology for Development.
Antagonists of humanity include people who, with their secret policies, deceive us that toxic agriculture is beneficial to the human race. These kinds of people are pushing genocidal legislation and policies such as H.R. 875: Food Safety Modernization Act of 2009, which has nothing to do with promoting food safety and has everything to do with intensifying a global trend to remove every bit of self-determination people have to produce and choose their own natural food and natural medicine. The Apostle Paul warned us of such people, “But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!” In modern times, it may not be enough to just turn away from such people due to their ability to use technology to affect us wherever we are: on our food, and in the skies through aerial spraying. Therefore for the promotion of public safetly, these threats to human health and individual welfare must be exposed.
Those who would ignore the dangers of toxic chemicals sprayed on our food and neighborhoods fit Paul’s discription well. They are “lovers of themselves,” which implies that they are out for their own benefit regardless of the peril of others. They are “lovers of money,” which implies that they will ignore the health and welfare of humanity for the profit of monitary gain. They are “boasters.” This tells us of how they will boast of their untested and dangerous techniques as superior to natural techniques, but to the detriment of human health. They are “without self-control,” which implies that they will destroy the lives and livelyhoods of other people due to their lack of discipline. The are “traitors.” which implies that they will sell out to self-interest while marginalizing human safety. They claim some kind of goodness (ie. “godliness”), yet they do not believe in the goodness they claim to cling to. In essence, they are political and societal hypocrates and very dangerous to human welfare.
Consider the following example of environmental recklessness:
In the fall of 2007, the State of California sprayed pesticides over Santa Cruz and Monterey Counties to control the potentially invasive Light Brown Apple Moth (LBAM).
In the following weeks, over 600 people reported adverse health effects, ranging from breathing problems to rashes.
Tens of thousands of Californians called on Governor Schwarzenegger to investigate the health complaints and end the LBAM Eradication Program.
Further extremism promoting genocidal policies against humanity in the US and globally through forced toxic chemical exposure is presented by the Natural Solutions Foundation. Also see the Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund. And nonais.org.
